Why HBO’s Succession Is One of the Best TV Shows Ever Made
Here’s why you should watch it
“I don’t feel like I’ll be able to write anything as good as this again” — said the creator of the show Jesse Armstrong in his interview with HBO.
I hope it’s not true because I’d love to see another masterpiece like Succession.
In an ever-evolving landscape of television, finding a TV show that is worth your time becomes more and more challenging. 9 out of 10 times I start watching something new, I end up giving up on it.
When I came across Succession, I knew it is a high-quality show, which shortly became one of my favorites.
In this article, I’ll share why ‘Succession’ isn’t just a TV show; it’s an experience that redefines the very essence of captivating storytelling.
Why ‘Succession’ Is a Must-Watch
For those not familiar with it, Succession is an HBO drama series that tells the story of the wealthy and dysfunctional Roy family.
The show follows the lives of the four siblings as they navigate the complex relationships and fight for control of the global media empire.
The show tackles some thought-provoking themes like the pursuit of power, family relationships, and the influence of media, forcing viewers to reflect on broader societal issues while keeping them entertained.
While “Succession” is a drama series, it also has the elements of dark comedy and satire in it.
Here are the five things that I loved the most about this show.
#1 Masterful dialogues
The writers of the show managed to create a compelling narrative through a mix of drama and humor.
Humor is an important tool in the show. While it provides relief in high-stress situations, it also provides insights into the personalities and coping mechanisms of the Roy family members.
The witty dialogues, clever wordplay, irony, and sarcasm capture the complexity of each character and portray the nuances of family relationships.
